MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday reported that the country has detected 852 new cases of the Omicron subvariants of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
According to the DOH, 839 of the total tallies are BA.5 cases; 11, BA.4; one, BA.2.75; and one, BA.2.12.1.
Of the 839 BA.5 cases, eight are returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs); about 39 are from the Ilocos Region, 13 from Cagayan Valley, 47 from Central Luzon, 28 from Region 5, 135 from Region 6, 25 from Central Visayas, six from Eastern Visayas, three from Zamboanga Peninsula, two from Northern Mindanao, two from Davao Region, 60 from Soccksargen, 106 from Calabarzon, 52 from Mimaropa, six from Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, 116 from Cordillera Administrative Region, nine from Caraga, and 182 from the National Capital Region (NCR).
Two of the eleven additional BA.4 cases are from Bicol, seven are from Soccsargen, one is from Calabarzon, and one is from the NCR.
One case of BA.2.75 from the NCR was also detected by the DOH and one case of BA.2.12.1 in an ROF.
Based on the most recent genome sequencing data from September 9 to 12, all reported cases have been confirmed.
