PAGASA: ‘Amihan’ still affecting Northern, Central Luzon

MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday stated that the northeast monsoon or “amihan” may cause partly cloudy to cloudy weather and bring light rains over some parts of Luzon in the next 24 hours.

PAGASA had earlier said that the effect of amihan is relatively weak compared to the previous weeks but is expected to re-strengthen by mid-February.

In the next 24 hours, partly cloudy to cloudy weather with light amihan rains may prevail over Luzon, except Bicol Region and Mimaropa (Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan).

Meanwhile, the entire Visayas and Mindanao and the rest of Luzon may experience partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

It advised the public to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
