4.4 million Filipinos to benefit from P106 billion 4Ps funds

MANILA – More than 4.4 million Filipino families will benefit from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) this year.

Budget Sec. Amenah Pandandaman that P106.335 billion was allocated to the 4Ps which is greater compared to 2023 which was P102.610 billion.

The said allocation covers health aid amounting to P750 per month and P600 per month as rice subsidies for 4.4 million families.

It also covers education subsidies that vary from P300-700 per month for over 7 million students.

It can be recalled that in the State of the Nation Address (SONA), the President instructed the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to ensure that only eligible families are involved in the 4Ps program.

In addition, the President promised various measures including the strengthening of aid programs and ensuring an adequate budget for poor sectors.

The 4Ps is a government poverty reduction strategy and a human capital investment program that provides conditional cash transfers to the most needy families for a maximum of seven years, to improve the health, nutrition, and education of children aged 0-18.
