MANILA – The operation of Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) is also suspended during Semana Santa.
In yesterday’s announcement, the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), which oversees the operation of the LRT-1, said that the suspension of the operation of the rail line will begin on March 27, Wednesday, until March 31, Easter Sunday.
According to the LRMC, it aims to facilitate their annual maintenance activities and mandatory testing activities related to the Alstom signaling system for the Cavite Extension project of the LRT-1. LRT-1 will return to normal operations on April 1, Monday.
It can be recalled that Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2), Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and Philippine National Railways (PNR) first declared suspension of operations for the Holy Day.
