PAL cancels Japan flights due to bad weather

MANILA – Due to bad weather, Philippine Airlines (PAL) has canceled six flights to and from Japan scheduled for Monday.

These flights were: PR 438/437 Manila-Nagoya-Manila; PR 426/425 Manila-Fukuoka-Manila; and PR 412/411 Manila-Osaka-Manila.

As of 9 a.m. Monday, the Manila International Airport Authority said no other carrier has canceled its flights between Japan and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Public broadcaster NHK on Sunday reported that 2 million residents of Japan’s southern island of Kyushu have been warned to evacuate as Typhoon Nanmadol approaches the country.

Public were cautioned against high winds, storm surges and torrential rains in the region.

The Japanese government has recommended people in impacted areas to seek alternative accommodations that can endure extreme weather conditions.
