PNP urged to renew commitment to people

MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has become resilient in overcoming challenges due to its unwavering commitment to serve the nation, according to Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin yesterday.

In his message during the 33rd PNP Foundation Day at Camp Crame, Bersamin emphasized the importance of renewing the pledge of commitment to duty.

He urged PNP members to stand at the forefront of the fight against crime.

“On this occasion of celebration, I deem it to be opportune to urge every member of the police force to renew the pledge of commitment to duty that you made when you began your service,” Bersamin said.

“Only by such renewal may the PNP morally lead the campaign to stifle any threat to the country’s peace and order,” he added.

Bersamin commended PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda for making strides through the implementation of a five-focus agenda: anti-crime operations, internal cleansing, transformational leadership, institutional capability development and community engagement.

The event served not only as a commemoration of the police force’s “rich history, but also as a tribute to the dedication of the PNP’s uniformed and non-uniformed personnel,” Acorda said.
