NCR remains under Alert Level 3 until Jan. 31

MANILA – Malacañang announced on Friday that the National Capital Region (NCR) will stay under Alert Level 3 until the end of January amid the spike in coronavirus disease (Covid-19) infections.

In a Palace briefing, Acting presidential spokesperson and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles declared this decision made by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

Earlier, the Metro Manila Council (MMC) decided to retain the Alert Level 3 status for NCR, citing enough restrictions in place and only a slight increase in the region’s healthcare utilization rate (HCUR) despite the increasing number of Covid-19 infections.
