PAGASA: New LPA approaching Northern Luzon

MANILA — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Tuesday announced that another low-pressure area (LPA) is approaching the country.

The new weather disturbance was seen moving westward in the Pacific Ocean more than 1,000 kilometers east of Northern Luzon.

According to PAGASA, the low-pressure area has no effect yet on any part of the country, but has a chance of developing into a typhoon in the next days.

Despite the approaching storm, the state weather bureau forecasts that most of the country will have good weather over the next three days.

From Wednesday to Friday, Metro Manila is expected to have fair weather with chances of isolated rainshowers due to thunderstorms.

PAGASA stated that Baguio City will be partly cloudy to cloudy on Wednesday and Thursday, but may see a little more rainfall on Friday.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the Bicol Region will also be cloudy with scattered rainfall, but the weather is likely to improve by Friday.

According to PAGASA, the Visayas is anticipated to be cloudy with some rain on Wednesday, but will have better weather conditions on Thursday and Friday.

On the other hand, most parts of Mindanao are forecast to have fair and warm weather, but still with possible thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening in the next three days.
