PAGASA: PH to experience fair weather this week

MANILA — As no new weather disturbance is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility in the coming days, the majority of the country is likely to have fair weather for the rest of the week.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), severe Tropical Storm Paeng is no longer affecting the country as it moved away toward Southern China.

The Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao regions may still experience some rain due to Queenie, the tropical storm that entered the Philippine area last Monday and eventually weakened into a tropical depression and a low-pressure area.

These areas might experience light to moderate with at times heavy rain, PAGASA said.

Queenie is likely to dissipate as it continues to weaken while approaching landmass.

According to the state weather bureau, Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon and the Visayas are forecast to have fair weather in the next three days with chances of scattered or isolated rains and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.

Weather experts stated that there is a low chance that a new typhoon would enter the Philippines during the week, although the northeast monsoon may intensify and bring rain.

In general, PAGASA said Metro Manila, with temperatures ranging from 24 to 32 degrees Celsius, would experience good weather today and tomorrow with little chances of rain by Saturday.

Baguio City, colder at 16 to 22 degrees Celsius, will have fair weather today and tomorrow, with chances of light rain by Saturday.

Bicol region will likewise have fair weather.

Most parts of the Visayas are expected to be cloudy tomorrow and on Saturday, while Mindanao is forecast to be cloudy today and tomorrow.
