Marcos says he wants to keep Tulfo in his administration

MANILA – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos wants to retain former Cabinet member Erwin Tulfo in his administration.

In an interview, Marcos said he will find something where he can position Tulfo as he revealed that he has “other plans for him.”

“That’s really not been part of the plan for Erwin. No, we have other plans for him. Not as a presidential adviser,” the President said on Monday, Jan. 23.

He said he hopes Tulfo can still be part of his administration after facing difficulties in his confirmation process as the secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The President said he intends to make use of Tulfo’s “good instincts” in public service but did not mention any specific government position.

“I hope so. I hope so. Because whatever we say – difficulties that he faced with the Committee on Appointments, in the CA, he – the time that he was running the DSWD he did a very good job,” Marcos said.

“So we can’t lose that kind of – that kind of asset. So we’ll find something that he can do so we could take advantage of his good instincts when it comes to social service,” Marcos added.

Tulfo has failed to get the nod of the powerful Commission on Appointments (CA) due to citizenship issues.
