DBM launches ‘Usapang Budget’ Facebook page

MANILA – The DBM has launched its second official Facebook page “Usapang Budget” that intends to connect with and relate budget concerns to ordinary Filipinos, according to Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman.

Pangandaman stated that it will inform the people of the latest information on the government budget and spending in an engaging, less technical manner.

“In the spirit of good governance, we want to reach out to more people to let them know what (the) government is doing with their money in a way that even the common folks will understand,” she said. 

Usapang Budget will provide updates on the administration’s plans, initiatives, activities, and projects in an easy-to-understand format.

Pangandaman emphasized that the Facebook page will also be the platform for DBM’s latest initiative with the same name.

“The page will live stream DBM’s newest digital program of the same title, in line with President (Ferdinand) Bongbong Marcos’ thrust to institute mechanisms for transparency and accountability,” she said.

Usapang Budget will be more interactive, Pangandaman said.

“Dito po, aside from explaining kung paano mag-budget ang gobyerno at kung saan ginugugol ang pondo ng bayan, maaari din pong magtanong ang mga tao upang sila’y maliwanagan (Here, aside from explaining the government’s budgeting process and where it allocates people’s funds, people can also ask questions so they will be enlightened),” she added.

Pangandaman urged the public to like, follow, and share the Usapang Budget Facebook page.
