DICT launches 24/7 SIM Registration complaint center

MANILA — The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) on Tuesday launched a 24/7 complaint center to respond to issues and concerns related to SIM card registration.

According to the DICT, any concerns related to SIM card registration can be directed to the said complaint center, through hotline 1326.

DICT spokesperson and Undersecretary Anna Mae Lamentillo said they are considering the first two weeks of the implementation of SIM registration as a test period.

They said that it is expected that there will be some glitches or technical issues, especially since the public telecommunications entities (PTE) are still adjusting their respective processes regarding this.

According to Lamentillo, such a 24/7 complaint center will serve as a support system for the implementation of SIM registration because it will provide them with a platform where SIM subscribers can express their concerns and give suggestions on how to improve the process.

For registration concerns, users of DITO Telecommunity Corp. can visit https://dito.ph/registerDITO, while subscribers of Globe Telecom Inc. can visit https://new.globe.com.ph/simreg, and https://smart.com.ph/simreg for Smart uses.

The main telecommunications firms in the country initially assured that they are ready for the implementation of the SIM Registration Act, but admitted that they may experience some problems in its initiation.
