MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported that a total of 3,127 more people tested positive for Covid-19 from the previous week.
According to the DOH, the average daily number of cases from Jan. 2 to 8 was at 447. It noted that this was nine percent lower than the infections logged from Dec. 26, 2022 to Jan. 1, 2023.
Of the new cases, only seven patients were “severe and critical,” the DOH said.
A total of 507 patients with severe and critical conditions are still recuperating in hospitals. This figure represents 9.3 percent of the total Covid-19 admissions nationwide, the DOH said.
Meanwhile, the DOH reported that 79 more deaths were logged.
On the other hand, 73.7 million Filipinos have been fully vaccinated against the viral disease. However, only 21.1 individuals were able to receive their booster shots.
