Marcos: Heroism of SAF 44 will always inspire us

MANILA – The heroism of the 44 Special Action Force (SAF) officers who were killed in an anti-terrorism operation in Maguindanao in 2015 will remain as inspiration in serving the nation.

This was stated by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. during the commemoration of the heroism of SAF 44 on Wednesday, Jan. 25.

“We honor the 44 brave Special Action Force officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty,” the President said.

“Their heroism will always inspire us as we continue to protect and serve our people,” he added.

The SAF 44 were killed during an anti-terrorism operation on Jan. 25, 2015 in Mamasapano, Maguindanao. The operation dubbed as “Oplan Exodus” led to the neutralization of Malaysian terrorist Zulkifli Abdhir alias Marwan.
