MANILA – Malacañang announced on Monday that more areas in the country have been placed under alert level 1 status from May 3 to 15.
According to Acting presidential spokesperson and Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) approved the recommendation.
The following provinces, highly urbanized cities (HUCs), and independent component cities (ICCs) will be placed under Alert Level 1: For Luzon, Nueva Vizcaya in Region II; and for Mindanao, Misamis Occidental in Region X.
Meanwhile, the following component cities and municipalities will likewise be placed under Alert Level 1: For Visayas, Talisay City, Cebu in Region VII; and for Mindanao, Antipas, North Cotabato, and Banga, South Cotabato in Region XII.
“Alert Level classifications of component cities and municipalities under IATF Resolution Nos. 165-G (s.2022), 166-A (s.2022), 167-A (s.2022) not otherwise affected by this Resolution shall remain in effect until 15 May 2022,” Andanar said.
Based on the data from the Department of Health (DOH), the Philippines logged 1,399 new Covid-19 cases from April 25 to May 1.
The daily case average during the period was 200, which was five percent lower than a week earlier.
Since the pandemic began in 2020, more than 3.68 million Covid-19 infections have been recorded in the country.
