Palace: Marcos China visit yields investment pledges, to create thousands of jobs

MANILA — The state visit of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to Beijing, China recently will generate thousands of jobs for Filipinos.

According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), Marcos’ three-day trip to China was successful and the President himself said that many jobs will be opened for Filipinos.

This is said to be the result of the President’s state visit to that country.

“It’s certainly going to produce many, many jobs, when the investments come into play, when they start their operations,” Marcos said.

The President identified some of these investments that have already set up their offices in the Philippines and are already processing their business permits to start investing.

The President yielded $22.8 billion in investment pledges to the country after meeting with Chinese business leaders during his three-day state visit to China.

Marcos added that some of them are already starting training and capacity building for starting their business here in the Philippines and some of the new ones that will be opened are the mineral processing industry, battery production as well as electric vehicle production.
