PhilHealth premium rate in 2023 remains at 4%

MANILA — The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) assured that their premium rate will remain at 4% with an income ceiling of P80,000 for CY 2023.

This is also in compliance with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to suspend the scheduled premium rate hike from 4.0% to 4.5%, as well as raising the income ceiling from P80,000 to P90,000.

Acting PCEO Emmanuel Ledesma, Jr. said PhilHealth is scheduled to issue a separate advisory regarding this, which will state the guidelines that will implement such a directive, particularly for direct contributors.

Ledesma assured that the rollout of the new benefit packages, which should have been taken from the premium hike, will continue as planned.

He said it includes Outpatient Therapeutic Care for Severe Acute Malnutrition, Outpatient Package for Mental Health, Comprehensive Outpatient Benefit, and others.

He said the leadership has been instructed to implement the necessary strategies to ensure the implementation of such benefits.

PhilHealth also assured the public that the current benefits enjoyed by their members will not be affected by the said suspension.
